ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kim Gravell is the author of the Dark Places series of urban fantasy adventures. She lives a dangerous life which is to say she has a compulsive writing habit that leads to her spending more time than is healthy sat in front of her PC.

To counteract her sedentary writing life she practices Shotokan karate, yoga and also runs (slowly). The latter has the benefit of providing time to work on storylines. However, as she notes, the further she runs the more bad tempered she becomes. "As a consequence my plotting becomes increasingly evil and my characters have to suffer far worse predicaments than if I stayed at home and ate chocolate."

In addition to her novels, Kim writes short stories and these have appeared in anthologies by the likes of Luna Press Publishing, Mother’s Milk Books and the British Fantasy Society, as well as in popular magazines. Her debut collection of short stories, Tales Beyond Midnight, won two Firebird Book Awards and was a finalist in both the Global Book Awards and the Wishing Shelf Awards.

Kim loves travel, people watching and animals of all shapes and sizes and can no more imagine a life without writing than she could a life without breathing.
